For Referrers & GPs
Providing depth-oriented therapy for capable adults experiencing anxiety, burnout, trauma, and high-functioning distress.

Who I Work With
Hi, I’m Sarah O’Flaherty, a Clinical Psychologist who offers evidence-based therapy for thoughtful, capable people who are often managing significant internal pressure despite appearing composed on the outside.

Many of the people I work with carry high expectations, perfectionism, chronic stress, or the quiet exhaustion of always “coping.” From the outside they may look successful; internally they feel stretched, self-critical, or disconnected from what matters most.

Clients often seek support for anxiety, trauma (including developmental or relational trauma), burnout, identity or values conflicts, inner critic dynamics, or the impact of being neurodivergent or highly sensitive. I also work with clients from diverse cultural backgrounds and those seeking an affirming therapeutic space.

Many of my clients are professionals, creatives, university students, and leaders who value a warm, collaborative, and psychologically attuned approach.

Alongside my clinical training, I bring lived experience of high-pressure corporate environments and personal insight into life transitions such as menopause and late-diagnosed ADHD. This informs my understanding of how internal patterns intersect with identity, performance, and self-expectation.

My practice integrates EMDR, Schema Therapy, relational psychotherapy (AEDP), and experiential methods. The focus is on helping clients recognise the patterns shaping their emotional worlds, understand what sits beneath these patterns, and gently shift toward greater clarity and steadiness.

What Your Patients Can Expect
Clients can expect a warm, grounded, and collaborative therapeutic space where their experiences are met with curiosity and respect. My intention is to create an environment that feels safe, steady, and attuned, allowing clients to explore the emotions, histories, and patterns contributing to their current struggles.

Therapy is experiential and thoughtfully paced, supporting clients to develop deeper self-understanding, strengthen emotional regulation, and work through anxiety, overwhelm, perfectionism, or self-criticism. Additional strategies or supports are integrated when appropriate, but the heart of the work remains relational, personalised, and guided by the client’s needs and readiness.

Clients often report feeling more understood, more grounded, and better equipped to navigate internal challenges as therapy progresses, though each person’s process unfolds at its own pace.
What You Can Expect
I value collaborative care and understand the trust involved when you refer a patient. My aim is to make the process clear, respectful, and supportive for both you and your patient. You can expect timely communication and structured progress updates that outline focus areas and engagement while maintaining appropriate therapeutic boundaries and confidentiality.

Consistency, reliability, and psychological safety underpin my practice. I offer both in-person and telehealth appointments and aim to provide continuity of care wherever possible.

Referrers can expect:
• Professional and timely communication
• Clear, structured written updates when required
• A calm, steady, and attuned therapeutic environment for patients
• A thoughtful, collaborative approach to treatment planning
