Meet Sarah O'Flaherty
Clinical Psychologist
EMDR Accredited Practitioner
Board-Approved Supervisor

I help leaders, creatives, and professionals who know something needs to change, but aren’t sure what or how. Together, we uncover what’s holding you back so you can move forward with clarity, confidence, and purpose.

Background

From a career in advertising to clinical psychology, my path has been anything but traditional — and that’s why it works.

After two decades in senior leadership roles, including General Manager positions and international work with Saatchi & Saatchi, I realised professional success wasn’t enough; the work also needed to be meaningful. I retrained as a Clinical Psychologist and now bring together two worlds: deep insight into high-pressure careers and advanced training in trauma, attachment, and evidence-based therapy.

Credentials & Experience

-
Clinical Psychologist with advanced post-graduate training in EMDR, Schema Therapy, and AEDP, with a particular focus on trauma, attachment, and complex presentations.
-
EMDR Accredited Practitioner – providing structured, evidence-based trauma therapy.
-
Board-Approved Supervisor – supporting psychologists and clinical registrars in developing depth and confidence in their clinical work.
-
Ongoing professional development and supervision – because thoughtful therapy requires reflection, humility, and continual growth.
-
Integrative and tailored approach – drawing from EMDR, AEDP, Schema Therapy, CBT, ACT, CFT, and mindfulness-based interventions to meet your unique needs. Find out more about my therapy style and approach.

A Different Kind of Therapist

-
A therapist who understands high-pressure environments and complex internal worlds.
-
Someone who values insight, accountability, and depth.
-
Calm, grounded, and direct when needed.

In my downtime, I love to travel, read, connect with good friends, and enjoy watching movies.

Did you know? I'm a recipient of the 2025 Brisbane Lord Mayor's Women in Business Grant, which aims to empower women entrepreneurs, helping them strengthen their businesses and expand their impact.
Professional Credentials & Leadership Background

I hold a Master of Clinical Psychology from Griffith University (2018) and am endorsed as a Clinical Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia. I am registered with AHPRA and am a member of the Australian Association of Psychologists (AAPi), the EMDR Association of Australia (EMDRAA), and the Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy Association (AEDP).

I am an EMDR Accredited Practitioner, having completed additional supervision and advanced training requirements. I am also a Psychology Board-approved Supervisor (STAP-accredited) and provide supervision to Clinical Psychology Registrars, Clinical Psychologists, General Psychologists, and other mental health professionals.

I have previously served on the Queensland Committee of the College of Clinical Psychologists and value contributing to the development and integrity of the profession.

Before retraining in psychology, I spent nearly twenty years in senior roles within the corporate advertising sector, including General Manager positions and international work with Saatchi & Saatchi and DDB. Leading teams and managing complex organisations in high-pressure environments has given me first-hand insight into the realities of professional life, leadership, and burnout.

Working and living internationally deepened my appreciation of cultural perspective and the diverse ways people understand themselves and the world.

Alongside my clinical work, I have written three books:

These publications reflect my longstanding interest in practical change, stress reduction, and meaningful transitions.
